A famous comedian and actor experienced a serious car crash that left him hospitalized. It inspired a new perspective on life focused on God and appreciation.

On September 1, 2019, Kevin Hart was in a car that rolled off the road into an embankment. He was rushed to a hospital for 10 days and two others had to be cut out from Hart's car. Jared Black, the driver, and Rebecca Broxterman were not severely injured.

In his first social media post since the accident, he released a video sharing an inside scoop on his recovery and what he felt during the process. With heartbeat sounds in the background, the screen outlines the events with photos of the totalled car and words on the screen. It says "my world was forever changed."

"Basically what you realize is that you're not in control, at the end of the day it can all be over," Hart says. The video continues with a montage of recovery showing his back scars, tears, and pain during physiotherapy.

"When God talks, you gotta listen. I swear life is funny because some of the craziest things that happen to you end up being what you needed most. In this case, I honestly feel like God told me to sit down.

"When you're moving too fast or doing too much, sometimes you can't see the things the way you're supposed to," Hart says.

He tells viewers that his perspective is changed and that he needed this time. Never-before-seen clips of him with family, friends, and doctors are shared throughout the two-minute video. "My appreciation for life is through the roof.

"I'm thankful for my family, my friends, and for the people who simply ride with me and stood by me ... Don't take today for granted because tomorrow is not promised," Hart says.

Hart is determined to bettering himself this upcoming year and says "more importantly I'm thankful for God."
