It was a successful day yesterday for the Linden Christian boys varsity basketball team.
The Wings defeated the Gray Academy Raiders 80-64 in the final on Monday to become Zone 12 champions.
It was a very successful playoff run for the Wings, as they defeated the St. Boniface Centurions in their quarter-final 92-54, and moved on to the final by beating the St. Maurice Patriots 100-60.
The Linden Christian girls varsity basketball team also had a successful playoff run, first winning their semi-final game against the St. Boniface Centurions 87-58. But they ended up losing a tight final game to the University of Winnipeg Collegiate Wesmen 57-51.
With their win, the Wings will be off to AAA provincials next week from March 16-18 in Winnipeg. The tournament will be hosted by Springs Christian. The girls are still waiting to find out if they have secured a wildcard berth for provincials next week as well.
