News broke this week that retailers across Canada have been involved in price-fixing schemes when it comes to bread and bakery items.

Loblaw Companies Ltd., which owns Real Canadian Superstore and Shoppers Drugmart, among other stores in Canada, and their parent company George Weston Ltd. blew the whistle on the 14-year practice of companies agreeing to raise prices on bread at specific times.

As an act of what CEO George Weston is calling "good faith," the company is offering $25 gift cards for free.

The gift cards will become available on January 8, 2018. In the meantime, you can sign up for a notification when they do become available, here.
