A Winnipeg man is being charged after exposing himself in a grocery store and refusing to leave a bus after threatening the driver.

On Thursday afternoon, a 41-year-old man was at a grocery store in the 1000 block of Gateway Road when a series of serious incidents occurred. At around 4:30 p.m., the man concealed items on himself, exposing himself, and urinating on them. Police say was "making good his escape."

The man then got on a bus, becoming agitated with the driver's driving. The suspect then threatened to assault them.

The driver stopped the bus at Main Street and Margaret Avenue, instructing their passengers to exit the bus and the police were notified. Transit supervisors arrived, but the suspect would not leave the bus.

Central District General Patrol officers arrived, arresting and charging the 41-year-old.

He is facing four separate charges including:

  • Mischief Under $5,000 x2
  • Indecent Act
  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Uttering Threats
