Man facing consequences for keeping baby black bear in home

A Winnipeg man is facing charges under the Wildlife Act after keeping a black bear cub in the house.

Manitoba conservation officers were tipped off by a concerned member of the public but were unable to track down the man.

The man later called the conservation tip line asking for the bear to be removed from his home.

Agriculture and Resource Development staff were able to take the cub to Black Bear Rescue Manitoba.
