Authorities say a man making a Monday-morning stop was assaulted after refusing to buy someone a coffee.

On Monday at 7:50 a.m. in West Broadway, a man in his 30s was in a drive-thru when he was approached by a man. The man asked the driver for a cup of coffee, and the driver declined.

Reaching into the open driver-side window, the man punched man, injuring his face. Officers witnessed the event and immediately arrested the 39-year-old.

The 39-year-old is being charged with Assault Cause Bodily Harm. He is in custody.
