Manitoba Hydro says it is temporarily reducing the number of employees at the Keeyask Generating Station construction project as a precaution against the spread of COVID-19.

The company said in a news release over the weekend that five of the 764 workers at the site in the province's north tested positive for COVID-19.

It said plans for the workforce reduction were still being developed, and that they would ensure the safety and security of the project is maintained.
