Consuming cannabis may be legal in Canada, but growing your own in Manitoba is not.

RCMP say officers found a large illicit cannabis growth operation when executing a search warrant at a home in Winnipegosis on October 19th. Winnipegosis is about four hours northwest of Winnipeg.

According to police, 94 cannabis plants in various stages of growth were seized.

Ronald Allan Sobotkiewicz is facing various charges.

Manitoba RCMP say, in the week that followed legalization on October 17th, RCMP have issued 12 charges of unlawful transport of cannabis in or on a vehicle, two charges for consuming cannabis in a vehicle, one consumption of cannabis by a young person, three of possessing illicit cannabis, and one impaired by drug charge.
