Two COVID-19 vaccine super sites are set to close by next week.

The Leila super site will host its last appointments on Monday. 

"The Vaccine Implementation Task Force would like to recognize and thank the staff and volunteers who have dedicated their time to support the vaccine rollout at this location, as well as the City of Winnipeg and Winnipeg Soccer Federation for their support of the site," the province says in a statement.

Leila staff will be given the option to work at the RBC super centre or other immunization clinics.

The super site in The Pas is closing, giving its last immunizations on Wednesday.

To date, 1,879,534 doses of vaccine have been given in Manitoba.

 

New cases

There were 153 new COVID-19 cases from Friday to Monday.

New cases include:

  • 44 cases on Friday
  • 46 cases on Saturday
  • 36 cases on Sunday
  • 27 cases on Monday

There is a rise in active cases, bringing the total to 345. There are 56,750 recoveries in the 58,283 total cases.

Manitoba's five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate is 2.3 per cent and Winnipeg's rate is 1.4 per cent.

No new deaths were announced, leaving the total at 1,188.

 

Hospitalizations

In the hospital, due to COVID, there are 63 people with 18 of those people having active cases. In intensive care, there are 16 people, five of which are active cases.
