All five intensive care patients with active cases of COVID-19 have received no COVID-19 vaccine.

The province is announcing 64 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday. 

New cases include:

  • 23 new cases, with 19 not fully vaccinated, in the Southern Health–Santé Sud health region
  • 15 new cases, with nine not fully vaccinated, in the Winnipeg health region
  • 15 new cases, with nine not fully vaccinated, in the Northern health region
  • six new cases with three not fully vaccinated, in the Prairie Mountain Health region
  • five new cases, with four not fully vaccinated, in the Interlake–Eastern health region

After a short spike, the five-day test positivity rate in Manitoba has dropped down to 2.5 per cent. In Winnipeg, the rate is 1.2 per cent.

Two Manitobans have died including a female in her 70s from the Interlake–Eastern health region, linked to the B.1.617.2 (delta) variant of concern and a male in his 80s from the Winnipeg health region, linked to the unspecified variant of concern. There are now 1,203 COVDI-19 deaths in Manitoba.

There is a total of 599 active COVID-19 cases and 57,724 recoveries. There is a total of 59,526 confirmed cases.

 

Hospitalizations 

There are 62 people in Manitoba's hospitals receiving treatment for COVID-19. Out of the 26 active cases, 77 per cent of people have not received a vaccine, 15 per cent are partially vaccinated, and eight per cent are fully vaccinated. 

Twelve people are in intensive care due to COVID-19, with seven of those people no longer having active cases. Everyone with active cases are unvaccinated.
