Starting Wednesday customers at MPI locations will be required to wear a mask and more requirements for other Manitoba establishments are coming later this week.

Liquor Marts, and casinos will all require customers to wear face masks starting on Thursday.

In a statement, MPI says throughout the pandemic it has "been committed to following the advice and direction of the provincial public health authority by putting procedures in place to best protect the health and safety of MPI employees and customers."

Customers will have to use a face covering at any MPI location, including service centres, claim centres, and physical damage centres.

MPI says anyone who refuses to wear a mask will be asked to leave.

The new requirements will not replace physical distancing guidelines that are already in place.

Staff that interact with customers will also be wearing masks, MPI says.
