A portion of Main Street is closed Saturday morning as Winnipeg Fire crews battle a massive blaze.
The fire broke out just after 2 a.m. in a furniture store near the intersection of Main Street and Euclid.
Witnesses say it has since spread to a neighbouring store.
At least 15 neighbouring homes have been evacuated as a precaution.
Three firefighters suffered minor injuries and have been transported to hospital in stable condition.
Northbound Main Street is closed from Higgins Avenue to Selkirk Avenue.
It is expected to remain closed for the rest of the day.
Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to avoid the area.
Police and Fire resources are currently fighting an industrial fire in a business at 843 Main St. All lanes north and southbound Main St. from Higgins to Selkirk Av. will be closed all Saturday morning. Please avoid the area. Staff Sergeant Bob Chrismas WPS Duty Office
