Alongside Joey Lawrence, Michael W Smith will star in the film Pardoned By Grace.
Smith will play a lead role in Ben Graham's faith-based film that tells the true story of a man named Scott Highberger who went from being a notorious criminal to becoming a pastor, the Christian Post reports.
Lawrence - best known for his role as Joey in the 90's hit Blossom - will play Highberger alongside Smith's role as pastor Dave Gargano.
Gargano was a positive influence in Highberger’s life and gave him an opportunity, after his last release from prison, to change his life by giving him a job at the church.
Highberger would later be ordained as a pastor in that same church.
The movie is now in production in the county jail where Highberger spent most of his time behind bars.
Pardoned By Grace's producer is Ben Graham, a grandson of the late evangelist Billy Graham. Kevan Otto, a law enforcement officer turned writer and director of many faith-based films, is the movie’s director.
