Police say a man from a First Nations community in North-western Manitoba is Winnipeg's latest homicide.

On Monday, the Winnipeg Police Service received a report of a serious assault in the 800 block of Arlington Street. Arriving at 11:15 a.m.,  officers found a 47-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. The WPS says the victim was transported in critical condition to the hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Police say the victim was a 47-year-old man from Pukatawagan, a community 213 km from The Pas, named Darrell Joseph Dumas

WPS says General Patrol officers found a suspect in the 400 block of Maryland. A 21-year-old from Winnipeg was the subject of an arrest warrant and is being charged with Second Degree Murder.
