Well over 200 warnings were issued to Manitobans in the past week for not following the Public Health Orders.

The province says 249 warnings were issued to Manitobans between January 4-10 for not follow the orders. In total, 48 tickets were issued.

Those ticketed includes:

• 33 $1,296 tickets to individuals for various offences;
• eight tickets to individuals for failure to wear a mask in indoor public places; and
• six $5,000 tickets to businesses

22 of the 33 individual tickets came from following tips about gatherings in private residences.

Dr. Brent Roussin says Manitobans should continue to enjoy the warm weather but notes that COVID-19 regulations need to be followed. Enforcement will be on-site at recreation facilities to assure they are followed.

"While Manitobans are encouraged to continue enjoying outdoor activities, individuals are reminded to practice the fundamentals. Do not gather in groups of more than five and maintain a separation of at least two metres unless you reside at the same residence," the province says in a statement.

Individual COVID-19 fines are set at $1,296, and $5,000 for businesses. A $298 fine is set for those not wearing masks in indoor public spaces.
