The Oakland Raiders arrived in town Wednesday ahead of their exhibition game against the Green Bay Packers, and a lot of Winnipeggers got a kick out of the wardrobe choice of one player.

The Raiders posted pictures to their Twitter account showing photos of Daniel Carlson and AJ Cole III sporting Winnipeg themed shirts. Carlson wore a Winnipeg Jets shirt, and Cole wore a shirt with an outline of a city skyline with "Winnipeg" in large letters across the centre.

There was just one problem with Cole's shirt: it said "Alberta" under "Winnipeg."

People online were quick to notice the error.

While some people seemed to be annoyed by the mistake, most seemed to take it in stride and had fun with the mishap.

Jay Brushett was among the first to notice the mistake, asking "Has no one else noticed that the shirt says, Winnipeg Alberta?"

Even the Bombers and Jets got in on the fun, with both teams' Twitter accounts tweeting to the rookie and Raiders.

"We can’t wait to visit you in Oakland, Nevada," the Bombers tweeted.Β

The Jets offered to get Cole into some hockey gear.

Cole apologized on social media, poking fun at himself saying, "Apologies to the citizens of Winnipeg, Manitoba... just a kid from Atlanta, Florida playing football in Oakland, Nevada with a low geography IQ."

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers also had some wardrobe fun.

He channelled his inner-Canadian and donned a Canadian Tuxedo.
