Nigeria is condemning the terrorist group Islamic State West Africa Province, a Boko Haram group, for the murder of eleven Christian Nigerians.

The BBC reports that the men were killed in a video released the day after Christmas as an act of revenge for the death of leaders Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Abul-Hasan al-Muhajir. 

The president of Nigeria does not want the slaying to become a reason for more division between Christians and Muslims in the country. The identity of those 

"I call on all Nigerians to stand united against terrorism and to avoid unhelpful conspiracy theories that serve the interest of Boko Haram terrorists and ISWAP," President Buhari says in a tweet.

The BBC reports that the video was filmed in an undisclosed outdoor location and that the video was shared on the group's personal online news channel. The identities of those killed have not been released.
