Officer being investigated for speeding while on duty

Despite being known for keeping drivers in check, a Mountie is being investigated for excessive speeding.

RCMP Manitoba received a report that on Monday, an officer in a police cruiser was speeding without a lawful justifiable reason on Highway 59, between Niverville and St. Pierre-Jolys The report said the officer was driving at excessive speed.

The Independent Investigation Unit is investigating the allegation. They are unable to provide more information at this time as it is an ongoing investigation.
