Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister told reporters "we can't go on like this" after his meeting yesterday in Ottawa with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The Liberal government has given the provinces $19 billion to respond to COVID-19, but the premiers of Manitoba, Ontario, Alberta, and Quebec want to see an additional $28 billion each year for health care.

Trudeau's office said in a statement released last night that the prime minister reiterated his commitment to hosting a First Ministers' Meeting this fall to discuss health transfers.

It also says that Trudeau, Pallister and Intergovernmental Affairs Dominic LeBlanc agreed that their governments will work closely on short-term priorities, including the Lake Manitoba and Lake St. Martin Outlet Channels Project.
