A pedestrian is in critical condition after they attempted to cross the Disraeli Freeway Wednesday evening and were struck by a taxi.

A taxi could be seen with police tape around it and clothing on the ground.

The Winnipeg Police Service confirms a pedestrian was struck, and they were not using a crosswalk. At this time it does not appear charges will be laid against the driver.

The incident occurred in the northbound lanes of Disraeli near Lily Street.
