Last year the youth of Ness Ave Baptist Church had the opportunity to go anywhere in the world for missions with I Am Second. After a listening prayer session multiple youth all came up with the same answer: Winnipeg.

Matt Klippenstein, youth pastor of Ness Ave Baptist Church, is excited for the opportunity but faced (as many youth pastors are) with financial obstacles in taking as many kids as you can on a short-term missions trip. That's when he came up with the idea to play street hockey and raise money at the same time.

This is the second annual Ness Ave Baptist church 4-on-4 hockey tournament and promises to be even bigger and better than last year.

Klippenstein recalls his defeat in the finals last year,

"It was the finals and there was this team of young guys.  A bunch of youth from the church.  They had two full lines and they just ran us old guys ragged. We lost in a shootout. So we have some redemption to seek this year."

The one day tournament goes on June 21 and starts at 11am in the morning.  The tournament goes until a winner is declared.  A BBQ lunch and canteen will be available to keep the calories up of all the competitors and spectactors.

Teams will be a maximum of 6 players and restricted to ages 12 and up.  Registration is set at $100 with all proceeds going towards missions and the deadline for registration is June 16.  To find out more information contact Matt Klippenstein at Ness Ave Baptist Church or visit their website.
