Winnipeg police are asking the public to help locate a suspect allegedly involved in a recent homicide.

A 31-year-old male died yesterday after being seriously assaulted on Dec. 30, 2020.

Winnipeg Police Service (WPS) officers responded to the 1600 block of Burrows Avenue in the Burrows-Keewatin neighbourhood at around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The victim was taken to hospital at the time in critical condition.

Police say investigators have identified a suspect in the death, which is being considered a homicide. An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect, 29, for manslaughter.

The suspect is described as being 5'11" in height and weight 176 pounds.

WPS says the suspect is not to be approached. Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call 911, contact investigators at 204-986-6219, or call Crime Stoppers.
