Two people are facing charges after a senior was attacked twice, had clothing stolen, and was left alone on the street for hours.

In the early hours of August 7 in the 200 block of Pacific Avenue, a 76-year-old woman was attacked. Police say she was assaulted for the first time and left on the ground, and then shortly after was assaulted a second time. Police say for approximately two-and-a-half hours, the woman laid alone, assaulted on the street before someone called emergency services.

"An incident like this is extremely alarming," Constable Rachel Vertone says.

Police say the assault was unprovoked and that the victim did not know the suspects.

The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition but was later upgraded to stable.

Last week, the Winnipeg Police Service released a photo of two suspects, which police say helped them identify the suspects with tips from the public.

The Winnipeg Police Service says that two individuals, a 17-year-old male and an 18-year-old female are now facing charges. They both are being charged with Robbery and Aggravated Assualt.
