A Winnipeg woman in Portage la Prarie was found intoxicated inside a vehicle stolen from La du Bonnet.

On Tuesday, September 15 at 9:50 a.m., RCMP in Portage la Prairie received a call about an intoxicated woman in the passenger seat of a vehicle. Arriving to the 100 block of 4th Street SE in Portage la Prairie, authorities discovered that the vehicle the passenger was in had previously been reported as stolen from Lac du Bonnet.

 A 36-year-old female, from Winnipeg, was arrested on scene. During the arrest, police say they also found her to be in possession of a prohibited weapon and have a substance they believe was methamphetamine.

With the investigation continuing, officers were led to a Portage la Prarie apartment complex in the same block.

Officers located a firearm and a can of bear spray and arrested three additional suspects at the scene. Armed with a search warrant,  the seizure of additional drugs believed to be methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin.

RCMP arrested four people in total including:

Melodie Bellisle, 36-year-old female from Pine Falls

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance

Lisa Beaulieu, 35-year-old female from Winnipeg

  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Possess Weapon Contrary to Order
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

Kara Fredette, 20-year-old female from Winnipeg

  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking

Luke Woodhouse, 25-year-old male from Winnipeg

  • Careless Use of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime

RCMP say the suspects appeared in Portage la Prairie Provincial Court on September 16, 2020.
