A man is in custody after RCMP officers discovered his truck filled with weapons and stolen goods.
Sometime overnight on Sunday, a property in the RM of Alexander on Broadlands Road was broken into.
Police say they responded the next morning at 8:45 a.m. to find several items, a vehicle and two firearms were stolen from the property.
Three days after responding to the report in Selkirk at 3:00 p.m., officers noticed the truck that a suspect was supposedly associated with in the area. RCMP say they conducted a traffic stop.
"The suspect was found to be in possession of a firearm, pellet gun, and a knife. Some of the stolen items were recovered inside his vehicle," RCMP says in a statement."
Curtis Duval, 29, of Powerview-Pine Falls, is being charged with:
- Break and Enter to Steal Firearms
- Break and Enter
- Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose x6
- Weapons Possession Contrary to Order x6
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Fail to Comply x8
His passenger was also charged. The 37-year-old Powerview woman is now facing Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose x5 and Fail to Comply charges.
