Winnipeg police are investigating an assault with a weapon on a busy Winnipeg sidewalk Wednesday.

Police say at least one person was injured in the assault. However, they believe there may be more than one victim.

The incident took place at the corner of Main Street and Burrows Avenue.

Details are scarce early Thursday morning, but police say more than one person was taken into custody.
