Police have laid charges this week as a result of a major accident.

A collision at Goulet and Traverse on February 23 closed that intersection for much of the day after a car struck a transit bus.

A 23-year-old male was driving the car, and was rushed to hospital in critical condition. He has since been upgraded to stable.

The driver of the transit bus and a passenger in the car were transported to hospital in stable condition.

Police have announced that their investigation revealed the bus had the right of way, and was struck by the car when going through the intersection.

The driver of the car, a 23-year-old male of Winnipeg, has since been upgraded to stable condition and has been charged with:

- Driving While Ability Impaired
- Fail or Refuse to Provide Sample - Blood
- Dangerous Operation of Motor Vehicle

He was released on an Appearance Notice.
