Winnipeg police are requesting help from the public to assist in locating a suspect of sexual assault.

On August 8, 2019, police received a report of a residential break-in and sexual assault.

The incident took place at a home on Houde Drive, where a female victim in her 60's was sexually assaulted by a male suspect after he broke into her home at around 5:30 a.m.

The suspect fled and the victim was taken to hospital. She was treated and released.

According to the Winnipeg Police Service (WPS), the suspect is described as male with an olive-skinned complexion, clean-shaven, and around 25-30 years old. He has a smaller build and was wearing a dark grey hoodie with dark gym pants that had a stripe down the side. He spoke English with what could be a Spanish acccent.

Police say the investigation is continuing at this time by the WPS Sex Crimes Unit. Anyone that might have information that could assist investigators is asked to call 204-986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at 204-786-TIPS (8477).
