A 34-year-old man is in police custody after a warrant was issued last week for his arrest in relation to a fatal collision in 2019.

Police allege that the man was the driver of a motorcycle that crashed on the Midtown Bridge just before midnight on July 31, 2019. Both the man and his 28-year-old female passenger were taken to hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries.

The Winnipeg Police Service says they arrested the man on Monday.

He has been charged with Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance Cause Death, Operation of a Conveyance Cause Death While Impaired, Within 2 hours of Ceasing to Operate a Conveyance is Impaired.
