A collision involving a motorcycle and a car on Thursday evening has left a 20-year-old man with serious injuries.

At around 7:10 p.m., emergency personnel responded to the collision report at the 2300 block of Pembina Highway, near the entrance of the Victoria General Hospital.

The motorcycle driver who was in his 20s was transported to the hospital in critical condition initially but has since been upgraded to stable.

The driver of the car, a female around 20-years-old, was transported to hospital in unstable condition according to police. However, she was treated and was released.

Jay Murray, public information officer for the WPS, says injuries sustained by the motorcycle driver are believed to be quite substantial and a considerable hospital stay is expected.

The vehicle involved is described as a hatchback. According to Murray, few other details on the crash are available at this time.
