Mounties in Manitoba are appealing to the public to help them solve the disappearance of a "kind, quiet, shy, 16-year-old girl" who went missing two years ago.

Tammy Nattaway went missing in mid-July of 2020 from her community of Kistiganwacheeng (Garden Hill), Manitoba. Her family has told police that the young girl was not known to go off by herself and when she didn’t come home, they knew immediately that something was wrong.

Community searches were conducted, and the RCMP was contacted.

The RCMP says that their investigation leads them to suspect foul play in her disappearance, and RCMP Major Crime Services is leading the investigation.

During the investigation, information came to light that Tammy may have been seen in the days following July 14, 2020.

"The RCMP continues to receive tips, which are all followed up on, and the investigators are pursuing several different investigational avenues that we hope will help progress the investigation and find some answers for Tammy’s family," a release from the RCMP says.

Police continue to ask people to come forward if they have any information related to Tammy’s disappearance. If anyone has information, please call Island Lake RCMP at 204-456-2626, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477, or secure tip online at www.manitobacrimestoppers.com.
