RCMP responded to reports of a stabbing in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Portage la Prairie. 

At approximately 1:20 a.m., officers immediately attended and located a 37-year-old male with serious injuries on 2nd Street NE. Officers performed first aid until Emergency Medical Services arrived and brought the male to the hospital where he remains. 

It is reported that the male was on a bicycle when he was approached by two people who stabbed him, and then stole his mountain bike. 

Both suspects are described as being in their late teens or early 20's and wearing dark clothing. 

Despite reports being made in the area, the suspects have not been located. The bicycle was recovered a short distance away when it had been abandoned.
