RCMP officers are searching the Winnipeg River for a 47-year-old male working on his boat and then could not be found.

In a media release, the Lac du Bonnet RCMP responded to a possible drowning report on yesterday at around 12:25 p.m. along the Winnipeg River.

It was said that a 47-year-old man was working on his boat at the dock, and a short while later he could no longer be seen. The boat was found vacant and floating down the river. The report says that the boat was recovered, but not the man.

RCMP conducted a search yesterday with the assistance of the RCMP's Underwater Recovery Team, but no signs of the missing male were found and the search was unsuccessful.

The search and investigation are continuing.
