Twins from the U.K. born the size of a Mars bar and given no chance of survival have not only lived but are thriving.

Harley and Harry Crane were born on October 26, 2021, at only 22 weeks and five days gestation.

According to CBN News, the 'little fighters,' now 16 weeks old, are doing so well they might be released from Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, U.K., Thursday, their original due date.

Two weeks ago the Nottingham University Hospitals posted to Instagram that these twins are "Believed to be Britain’s youngest surviving premature twins. Harley and Harry continue to amaze doctors and nurses at QMC as they go from strength to strength."

The story is particularly remarkable, some calling it a medical miracle, considering doctors gave Harley and Harry a zero chance of survival when they were born and told their mom, Jade, she was having a miscarriage.

The couple, Jade and Steve Crane had tried for over a decade to conceive. They suffered an ectopic pregnancy and eight cycles of IVF, among other interventions.

"I had a sense of peace, and I prayed and prayed for them to make it, for them to cry to show signs of life, which they did," Jade said during an interview with BBC. "When Harley let out the smallest of cries, the room went mad, and they suddenly offered life-saving treatment. It felt amazing to hear them cry, though I was still scared."

While the two have already faced so many complications in their lives and multiple surgeries, the parents are relieved and thrilled to hopefully be headed home with them in the coming days.

"They’ll go down in medical history. I’m sure they’ll have an award named after them because everyone is just amazed by them!"
