The family of a victim of a serious assault is thanking CHVN listeners for mobilizing to pray and says she is moving out of the ICU.

Family of the victim had contacted CHVN on Monday to ask listeners to pray for her. She was found by police at 12:40 a.m. on August 13 in the green space in the northeast corner Higgins and Main. She was suffering from serious injuries after being badly beaten, and suffering other injuries as well, and was rushed to hospital in critical condition.

The victim had remained in the surgical ICU since that time when the family contacted CHVN.

On Tuesday afternoon the family again reached out, saying she was being moved out of the ICU to a "regular unit" to help her recover from her specific injuries.

Her family says it was a "big turn around" in just 24 hours.

"Pretty sure it was the mass prayer that helped," her family says. "Send my thanks to all those who prayed and to continue to pray for healing."

You can continue to pray for the woman and her family.

Police say that they are looking to speak with people who may have been in the area late in the evening of August 12, or early on the morning of August 13. They ask potential witnesses to call (204) 986-6219 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
