A multi-talented Christian star is asking fans and believers to pray for recovery as he undergoes cancer treatments.

Carmen Licciardello is a contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, television host and evangelist. In 2013 he was diagnosed with an "incurable multiple Myeloma cancer." He states in a social media post that after nine months of chemotherapy his doctors said the average remission would be nine years.

Unfortunately, after six years of remission, Licciardello has been told that 17 per cent of his cancer has returned. In response to the diagnosis, Licciardello has tried multiple cancer treatments for the past five months including five heart stent operations.

"I can’t stop fighting and I still trust God to have his perfect will done in the end."

He continues to be on more advanced medicine and chemotherapy every week. Licciardello shared that after seven months of a new regimen he has added another approach in the hopes of fighting cancer, a bone biopsy. "That’s where they drill in your hip for a piece of bone to see if there are any signs of cancer. Wow, what a week," Licciardello says.

Luckily, he is still in high spirits and asks for prayers to make his birthday wish come true. "So please pray, because I can’t quit, I can’t stop fighting and I still trust God to have his perfect will done in the end. But I can’t do it without your prayers and support. Sunday, January 19th is my birthday and what I really want is a cancer-free body," he states in the post.
