A former member of Casting Crowns is fighting for his life after being struck by another vehicle while on his way to church Sunday.

The band shared a post to their social media on Sunday evening saying that Andy Williams, their former drummer, was resuscitated at the scene Sunday morning and rushed to a hospital in Nashville.

"Currently, Andy is on a ventilator with severe trauma to his body and brain," the post says.

"The doctors have performed scans and are continuing to identify the trauma suffered. He is ALIVE, but the needs are many. The doctors say right now that the best thing that can happen is for him to wake up on his own. So please stop what you're doing and pray for Andy to wake up."

Williams has a wife and two sons, and the bands are also asking people to pray for them.
