Manitoba Premier Brian Pallister says his government will unveil its agenda for a new session of the legislature in a speech from the throne next Wednesday.

The throne speech is typically delivered in November.

Pallister says the Progressive Conservatives will focus on protecting people during the COVID-19 pandemic and safely restarting the economy.

Pallister says that includes legislation to support paid sick leave for those affected by the novel coronavirus.

Wab Kinew, the leader of the Opposition NDP says the party is ready to push back on issues it doesn't agree with.

In the spring the NDP used several procedural tactics to delay the introduction of the budget and stall dozens of bills from being debated.
