Beginning in July, moviegoers will be able to view a new faith-based film in theatres this summer.

Cinedicom, a movie distribution company, has decided to bring Unplanned: the dramatic true story of a Planned Parenthood director to Canadian theatres.

The film, which tells the story of former Planned Parenthood director Abby Johnson and her journey to leaving the organization in 2009, will open in theatres across Canada beginning July 12. Following her viewing of an ultrasound-guided abortion performed on a 13-week-old fetus, Johnson left the organization, realizing “there was life in the womb."

Initially, the pro-life film was not scheduled to come to Canada, as various major movie distribution companies declined to screen the film.

A producer behind Unplanned said at the time that that the film had been "effectively blocked" from Canadian distribution.

Details on screenings, when available, can be found here.
