The province is announcing that the five-day test positivity has dropped by 0.7 per cent on Friday.

Thirty-two new cases of COVID-19 is being discovered in Manitoba, with the Prairie Mountain Health region's new cases counting for more than half of the new total.

Of the 32 new cases, the following regions are reporting their case numbers:

  • one new case in the Interlake-Eastern Regional Health Authority
  • 18 new cases in the Prairie Mountain Health region
  • six new cases in Southern Health-Santé Sud
  • seven cases in the Winnipeg health region

There are currently 418 active cases and 664 people have recovered from the virus, so far, in Manitoba. 

Fourteen of the new cases are close contacts of previously-announced cases.

The total number of lab-confirmed cases in Manitoba to 1,096, with the current five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate lowering to 2.3 per cent. Since early February, 132,085 tests have been completed.

The province says that on Saturday,  hospitalization and intensive care unit data will not be available due to data system upgrades. The weekend data will be available on Sunday.
