The province says with Tuesday's new cases and a data correction, there have been 250 COVID-19 variants of concern discovered in Manitoba.

There are 77 new COVID-19 cases in Manitoba with the provincial five-day COVID-19 test positivity rate at 4.3 per cent. In Winnipeg, the rate is 3.5 per cent with 43 new cases. 

Southern Health-Santé Sud health region is seeing five new cases and one in Interlake-Eastern. The Northern health region has 27.

The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases is 34,052 in Manitoba. There are no new deaths as of Tuesday morning, leaving the total of lives lost at 934.

Correcting data and adding 11 new cases with variants of concern, the new total is:

  • B.1.1.7 at 199;
  • B.1.351 at 14;
  • cases that have not been categorized is 37; and
  • the total number of variant of concern cases is 250.

Of the new cases Tuesday, seven are from Winnipeg, three from Southern Health-Santé Sud health region, and one in the Interlake-Eastern health region.

There are 64 people in hospital with active COVID-19 cases with 13 of those in intensive care.

There are 64 people in hospital with active COVID-19 cases with 13 of those in intensive care. There are 86 people in hospital with COVID-19 who are not infectious, including 18 of those who are in intensive care.

 

In total there are 1,197 active cases and 31,921 recoveries.
