Winnipeg firefighters are back on the ground after spending some cold nights camping out on the roof of a local fire station.

The United Firefighters of Winnipeg says the annual campaign was another success.

Each year firefighters camp out on the roof of Station 4 in Osborne Village to raise funds for Muscular Dystrophy Canada.

While a final tally hasn't been released yet, the union says that the campaign was now closing in on $1 million.
