A rural driver was gifted a big surprise from the RCMP on his 23rd birthday.
On August 1 in the RM of North Cypress – Langford, a municipality approximately 160 km west of Winnipeg, a driver was caught speeding.
At 3:43 p.m, RCMP noticed the driver speeding at 162 km/hour, 52 km faster than the 110 km/hour speed limit on Highway 1.
While being pulled over, officers discovered that it was the man's 23rd birthday. RCMP then gave him a $731 fine for speeding.
RCMP Manitoba shared the events with a song on Twitter, warning drivers not to speed.
"Happy birthday to you 50 over plus 2, You can’t drive that faa-ast, So this fine is for you."
Comments on the tweet have mostly been positive, with many Twitter users enjoying RCMP Manitoba's humour.
