Mounties are searching for a tall man whom they say assaulted a teen girl who was walking home alone.

On Saturday night, a 13-year-old was walking home in Killarney, a community approximately 35 kilometres east of Boissevain. at approximately 9:35 p.m.

While on Fletcher Street, between Clark Avenue and Williams Avenue, she was approached by an unknown man who grabbed her by the waist, turned her around, attempting to unzip her jacket.

"The female fought back and was able to get away. She made it home with no physical injuries," RCMP says in a statement.

Police say the man is  6’4” and muscular. At the time, he was wearing a blue medical facemask and a black hoodie with the hood up.
