Inmate Dylan "Ringo" Carpenter has been apprehended by police.

After an early morning escape Wednesday, a Stony Mountain inmate has been apprehended by the Winnipeg Police Service. He was caught around 1:00 p.m.

 

Earlier: A warrant for the arrest of Dylan "Ringo" Carpenter has been issued after his escape from Stony Mountain Institution.

On August 21, during the 7:30 a.m. count in the minimum security unit at Stony Mountain, staff members discovered that offender Carpenter was not accounted for.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Stonewall detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and the Winnipeg Police Service.

Carpenter was found guilty in the 2012 death of 21-year-old Langford Ogemah of Kenora and is currently serving a sentence of eight years for manslaughter.

Carpenter, 28, is described as 5’5” in height and weighs 141 lbs. He has a medium complexion, brown eyes, and black hair. He has a tattoo showing the outline of a naked woman on his right upper arm.

Anyone with information regarding Carpenter is asked to contact Winnipeg Police or Mantioba RCMP immediately.
