After a very warm day, the potential for severe thunderstorms appears to be growing as a thunderstorms are in the forecast.

Updte [10:12 p.m.] - Thunderstorm watches have ended throughout most of Manitoba, including Winnipeg. 

Update [9:59 p.m.] - Thunderstorm warnings have ended around Manitoba. Watches remain in effect for a number of areas, including the City of Winnipeg.

Update [9:38 p.m.] - Tornado warning has ended for Selkirk, Gimli, Stonewall and Woodlands area. Severe thunderstorm warning remains for Winnipeg, Selkirk, Gimli, Stonewall, Woodlands, and Dugald.

Update [9:30 p.m.] - The severe thunderstorm watch has been upgraded to a warning for the City of Winnipeg.

Update [9:11 p.m.] - The area of Selkirk, Gimli, Stonewall and Woodlands is under a tornado warning. Seek immediate shelter. A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Portage la Prairie.

Environment Canada has released a severe thunderstorm watch for the City of Winnipeg.

Severe thunderstorms can cause large hail, strong gusts of wind, and possible tornados. If you hear thunder, seek shelter immediately.
