Snowplows will take to residential Winnipeg streets, clearing the aftermath of a winter storm.

The City of Winnipeg says they will begin work cleaning up streets, improving overall residential street conditions on Thursday at 7 p.m. This will signal the Residential Parking Ban.

"When a residential street is scheduled for snow clearing, residents are urged to find an alternate place to park such as an off-street driveway or parking lot, or a nearby street that has already been cleared," the city says in a Thursday statement.

Residents in D, I, O, S, U, and V zones will be the first to see snow clearing operations, with more to follow throughout the weekend. Winnipeg is expecting to get more snow Thursday night through Friday night.

Clearing will begin at 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. the next morning.

"Vehicles parked in violation of the Residential Parking Ban may receive a $200 ticket ($150 if paid early), and may be towed to a nearby street that is not scheduled to be plowed, or has already been cleared."
