Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the City of Winnipeg and parts of southern Manitoba as a rapidly developing clipper system moves into Manitoba.

Environment Canada says there may be visibility difficulties driving during rush hour due to the snowfall.

Snowfall totals in the area are expected to be in the 10 to 15 cm range. Snow will taper off Thursday morning.

In addition to the snow, strong southeasterly winds gusting to 50 km/h will create reduced visibilities in blowing snow. Winds will increase over western Manitoba later this morning and eastern Manitoba later this afternoon then diminish throughout the region overnight.

Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
