A 68-year-old pedestrian is dead after being hit by a vehicle Tuesday morning.

On Tuesday morning near the intersection of Highway 9 and Donald Road in the RM of St. Andrews, a 68-year-old man was walking in the northbound lane. A vehicle being driven by a 47-year-old struck the man. 

Selkirk RCMP officers arrived at approximately 8:20 a.m. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital where he then died from his injuries. The driver was uninjured. Both the pedestrian and the driver are from the RM of St. Andrews

RCMP Manitoba says drugs and alcohol were not a factor in the crash.

Selkirk RCMP along with the Criminal Collision Investigation Team and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
