Environment Canada says there were no tornadoes reported, but the wind speeds in last night's storm were still powerful.

Winnipeg received five to six millimetres of rain and some strong winds, but it was nothing in comparison to what Steinbach and other areas saw, according to Mark Melsness from Environment Canada.

"Steinbach saw a wind gust of 104 km/h last evening," Melsness said. "It was definitely enough to knock a few trees down and cause some power outages."

St. Malo also intense wind speeds at times.

Other areas of southern Manitoba experienced heavy rainfall with Baldur getting 98.6 mm, Cartright 71 mm, Elm Creek 61 mm, and Boissevain 63 mm.

The good news is that Winnipeg and much of the southeast should see sunshine today and most of tomorrow with temperatures around 20 degrees.

Next week could see temperatures drop slightly below normal in the low teens.
